Editorial Policy
This policy describes how Claim Journal researches, writes, reviews and corrects its content.
Purpose
We publish plain-English explanations of U.S. personal injury topics to help people understand general concepts before they seek professional help.
Sourcing
- We rely on primary and official sources where possible: statutes and regulations, court rules and decisions, and government agency publications.
- Articles link to the sources they use so readers can check them.
- We avoid unsupported claims, invented statistics and promises about outcomes.
Review
- Each article shows its author and the date it was last reviewed.
- We re-review time-sensitive topics (for example filing deadlines) on a regular schedule and when we learn that the law has changed.
- The "last reviewed" date changes only when an article has actually been re-checked.
Independence and advertising
Advertising is separate from editorial decisions. Advertisers do not review or approve content. We do not accept payment to feature a law firm or to publish favorable content, and we do not operate a lawyer-referral service.
Corrections
If you find an error, tell us. We correct verified errors promptly and update the review date.
What we are not
We are not a law firm and do not give legal advice. See the Legal Disclaimer.
